Xu SiAn, Ph.D

associate professor, master's tutor, national training expert, special expert of Guangdong Provincial Primary and Secondary School Mental Health Education Guidance Center, deputy director of training department; invited psychologist of Guangzhou “Happiness Base” .

Her major is development and educational psychology and her research interests are personality psychology. She is currently interested in doing research in the following areas, namely primary and secondary schools, early childhood mental health education, localization of positive personality of young students, and student development guidance. In terms of the concept of curriculum development, she advocates “designing each of our classes from a scientific perspective and testing our designs in a real classroom”. She also looks forward to implanting a positive mindset in our students a positive seed for our students in the course of mental health education..

She is very enthusiastic about social service work, including performing a volunteer job in Dujiangyan to support the reconstruction of the post-disaster area, training over 10,000 Kindergarten, primary and secondary school teachers, conducting psychological counseling for more than 100,000 senior high school students and students who are going to participant in college entrance examination.

She has instructed over 15 undergraduates to participate in the Undergraduate Normal Students Teaching Skills Competition of Guangdong Province and achieved excellent results.

In May 2018, she was awarded the Top Ten Favorite Teachers of 2017 in South China Normal University, School of Psychology.

In December 2017, she was named The Excellent Instructor of the Psychological Group in the“5th Guangdong Undergraduate Normal University Teacher Skills Competition”.
