Research interests

I am broadly interested in human perception, attention and awareness. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the ‘qualia’ issue, including perceptual, affective as well as aesthetic experience. During my Ph.D. study, I worked on how attention would influence our subjective visual experience of the physical world, that is, how covert attention influences how things look like (i.e., the perceived contrast). I was trained by Prof. Yong-Chun Cai and Shena Lu at Zhejiang University, China, and Prof. Alejandro Lleras and Simona Buetti at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. I use a variety of methodologies and approaches including behavioral psychophysics, EEG/ERP measurements, fMRI and computational modeling.
