主要内容：In this talk, I will discuss mental representations and processes underlying our ability to comprehend and produce sentences. I will first talk about the importance of studying mental representations as well as processes. I will then give an overview of structural priming, a paradigm that has been extensively employed to tap into these representations and processes over the past three decades. On the basis of this, I will talk about studies that I have done on representations and processes respectively. On the representation side, I will review my research on verb-phrase ellipsis, missing arguments, and bilingual lexico-syntactic organizations. On the processing side, I will talk about my work on the mechanism by which a conceptual message is realized as a string of words. Finally, I will talk about semantic representation, an area that remains to be explored, and discuss how Chinese can be used to contribute to the study of language processing.

报告人简介：蔡振光2010年在英国爱丁堡大学 (University of Edinburgh) 获得心理学博士学位，2011-2012年在英国曼彻斯特大学 (University of Manchester) 心理学院从事博士后研究，现为英国普利茅斯大学 (University of Plymouth) 心理学院专职科研人员。目前已在Journal of Memory and Language, Brain and Cognition等SSCI 国际重要期刊上发表多篇论文，为Bilingualism: Language and Cognition，Journal of Memory and Language，Language and Cognitive Processes 等国际重要学术刊物的审稿人。曾获爱丁堡大学研究生全额奖学金、英国实验心理学协会国外学习访问和会议资助等多项资助。
