摘要：Suicide, the leading cause of death around the world, is a major public health concern. Although suicide prevention has elicited much attention, the rate of death by suicide is still increasing. One of the factors that impede the progress of suicide prevention is that: most theories and empirical research on suicide do not differentiate risk factors for suicide ideation from those for suicide attempt. In this presentation, I will introduce an integrated model of suicide that provides different explanations for suicide ideation and suicide attempt, and suggest future research directions based on this model.
