题目：How neural oscillations influence visual perception: evidence from perceptual inference and electrical stimulation studies

摘要：It has been proposed that visual perception is an inference process, which involves both the feedback and feedforward influences. Moreover, accumulating evidence demonstrate that intrinsic neural oscillations could modulate visual perception. However, it remains poorly understood how the brain employs its intrinsic oscillations to build up specific percepts. In this talk, I will first present insights from an empirical study using electroencephalography and intracranial recordings, demonstrating the critical role of alpha oscillations in generating specific percepts. Then, to directly characterize the property of neural oscillations in human visual system, I will further introduce an electrical stimulation study, which recorded cortico-cortical evoked potentials (CCEPs), to investigate how the human visual system employs different neural oscillations for information sending along the feedback and feedforward pathway. Our study showed that, in human visual cortex, alpha oscillatory phase and power directly influenced the strength of feedback connections, while gamma power directly influenced the strength of feedforward connections.

报告人简介：沈路博士，华南师范大学特聘副研究员，先后在法国国家科学研究院脑与认知研究中心，以及荷兰唐德思脑、认知与行为中心联合培养和访学。主要使用心理物理法，fMRI, EEG以及sEEG等技术探究视知觉加工的神经机制，在PLoS Biology等高水平期刊上发表过论文。
