From June 6 to 8, 2016, the 4th International Workshop on Advanced Learning Science（IWALS） will be held at South China Normal University in Guangzhou, China. IWALS was launched by Pennsylvania State University and National Taiwan Normal University in 2013 and has since then been held annually. The workshop aims to provide international scholars with a platform to share and discuss the latest advances in the learning sciences. The workshop focuses on three main research fields: language learning and acquisition, STEM learning, and the use of technology to support learning. The first IWALS was held at Pennsylvania State University in 2013, the second at National Taiwan Normal University in 2014, and the third at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in 2015. The 4th IWALS will be held at South China Normal University in 2016. The meeting is a collaboration with the Pennsylvania State University, National Taiwan Normal University, Colorado State University, South China Normal University, the Ministry of Education for Humanities and Social Science, the Key Research Base for Psychology Application Research Center, and the Key Laboratory of Mental Health and Cognitive Science of Guangdong Province.
The theme of the 2016 conference is "Learning Sciences and Innovation Training". The main topics for the conference include: (1) Behavioral and neural learning mechanisms; (2) Cognitive processes involved in acquisition of Chinese language, mathematics, science, and technological knowledge; (3) Education and training methods for enhancing students' learning and innovation abilities. Invited speakers for this conference include Professors David H Monk and Ping Li from Pennsylvania State University, Professor Yaoting Song from National Taiwan Normal University, Professor Carol Seger from Colorado State University, and many other experts from across the Learning Sciences .
The conference aims to provide a channel for communication between learning science researchers and scholars from different regions and countries, and will provide a global forum for regional and international academic communication. The conference will include a variety of types of sessions, including keynote speeches, special topic forums, oral presentations, and poster sessions. The detailed meeting schedule will be released later. The organizing committee for the conference warmly welcomes all experts and students of the learning sciences and related subjects to participate.

Paper submission requirements:
Submissions should be related to the theme of this conference. Please be sure to send all submissions to our special mailbox. Specific instructions are as follows:
(1) Each submission should include the following information in the following order: title, authors, organizations, contact number, and abstract text.. Submissions should be written in English. The abstract text length limit is between 300~500 words.
(2) Email subject is " 2016 IWALS submission _ organization _ author_ paper title_ report form (oral or post)" (please replace inclined letter according to the actual conditions).
